CSA Digest & Other Blogs to Read

We counted the survey votes and 60% of you would like the Digest to return!  Therefore, the first issue of the Digest will be emailed on Sunday, September 4.  As always, please send your submissions/announcements to me by 8pm on Friday.  If you are not currently on the digest distribution list, please email college.student.affairs@gse.rutgers.edu so that we can add you.

In the meantime, the survey results shed some light on the fact that many our readers just don't know about the whole world of blogging.... there are TONS of blogs out there that you can be reading about higher education, student affairs, etc!  Here are just a few that I personally read and that I recommend you also check out:

"CSA Weekly Digest or CSA Blog?" Survey

In preparation for the upcoming school year, the CSA program has created a survey to see whether our readers want us to continue the CSA Weekly Digest or the CSA Blog.  This brief survey should take no longer than 3-5 minutes and it will help us to determine which information source is more popular within our CSA community.  You can find the survey at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/T9HJDC8.

Please complete the survey only one time by Tuesday, August 23 at 5pm.  Thank you in advance for all your help!

Reminder: CSA Book List

A few months ago we wrote a blog post entitled "Expanding our Book List."  We currently have only two responses recommending Outliers and Admission so we're curious to see what the rest of you are reading this summer!  It can be any type of book: a classic; a controversial or provocative read; a related fiction book; or something else.

Just click "comment" at the bottom of that post or this one and write a quick recommendation.  Then select "Name" and let us know who you are before submitting your comment.

Happy reading!

Expanding our Book List!

If you visit the College Student Affairs program website, you will see that we have compiled a Recommended Reading List for students; these are the books that faculty believes every student affairs professional should read.

NOW IT'S UP TO YOU!  Tell us what book you think every student affairs professional ought to read.  This can be: a timeless "classic;" a new controversial book; something specific to one field within student affairs; etc.

We want to make this a comprehensive list that our students can then use to prepare before going out into the field, or for our graduates, keep them well-read in student affairs literature.  So click on "Comments" directly under this post and let us know what book(s) YOU recommend!  (All readers are welcome to comment).
