Summer Internship Opportunity - NJ Office of the Secretary of Higher Education

The NJ Office of the Secretary of Higher Education; Trenton, NJ: The NJ Office of the Secretary of Higher Education is seeking a Summer Intern for 2014. The start date would be June 30, 2014 and the end date would be August 29, 2014. The minimum education requirement is a bachelor’s degree. The hourly rate is $31.68 per hour; 1 to 2 years of experience is needed. The EOF program needs a new application and graduate grant payment process to be created in Access or Excel that will meet the following requirements: (1) A secure, on-line application that institutions can access from the EOF website and send to our office via e-mail; (2) A data base to store the key components of the applications; (3) Certification roster- to be able to use the information in the completed application to populate and produce a certification roster for each campus program that includes the students’ names, social security #s, and amount of the term grant request. The certification roster will be sent to each campus program to confirm that the students listed are actually enrolled and the amount of the grant request for each term is accurate; (4) Payment list- for each campus program produce a list of the students to be paid a graduate EOF grant each term, the amount of the grant for each student and the total amount of Article III EOF graduate grant funds that should be sent to that particular institution. This list is used by the EOF accountant whose office is currently located at HESAA to issue payments to the campus programs; (5) Reconciliation Roster-a final list of students who were paid a graduate EOF grant. The reconciliation roster will be sent to each program to confirm that the students were actually enrolled, maintained full-time enrollment, and were credited with the grant amount listed. Refunds are submitted to the EOF accountant; (6) A method to keep tract of institutional allocations as compared to the institutions total EOF Article III graduate grant requests; (7) A method to track the history of the number of EOF graduate student grant payments each student receives since students are only eligible for a maximum number of payments based on the type of degree they are pursuing; and (8) The creation of a manual that explains how the data base operates and what steps are required to make changes to the original product.
